Scrap and go.
Well, it looks like I am going to scrap what I have. I keep writing myself into a corner. I'll come back to it another time, but I do have another idea screaming to escape. Hopefully, this idea will flow from my fingertips unlike what I've been doing. It's not any fun when writing 200 words takes an hour. It's miserable, really.
(sigh)
So, I'll start on the new idea and maybe I'll be inspired to work on this one later. (sigh)
Any advice?
Kit

Rent movies that are similar to your idea. I often get inspired that way when I have this problem. Putting on some music that makes me feel good helps change my state of mind.
Head butt the wall or something. Mind you, it hasn't helped me by doing that.
Ummm, nope, no sensible advice here!
What are you writing now then?
:O)
You have to feel passionate about whatever it is you're writing.
If you don't...you're going to run into this problem.
My advice? Toss it and use the plot within a story you do feel passionate about.
That's what I do. And it works for me.
